Screenplay Finder Reader — Privacy Policy

Effective date: 29 October 2026.

Screenplay Finder Reader is provided by Christopher Edward Green, trading as Media Grid Software Development Labs, ABN 98 783 256 814, Australia. Contact: support@mgsdl.com.

Information stored on your device

The Reader stores imported catalogues, searches, favourites, private tags, shortlists, notes, settings and correction proposals in local application storage. It does not require an account. The Reader does not send your catalogue contents, searches or personal collections to us automatically, and does not include advertising, tracking or analytics services.

Ordinary catalogue searching and reading included material work offline. The Reader does not provide cloud synchronisation or automatically upload your screenplays or collections.

Files you choose to import, export or share

You control catalogue imports, personal-data backups, metadata-list exports and correction-feedback exports. A personal backup can contain private notes and collections. Correction-feedback exports contain the selected proposals and associated catalogue identities and published/proposed values; they exclude private collection notes and screenplay text.

Printed or shared metadata lists exclude your private notes by default, but can include them if you select that option. Review exports before sharing: information you enter into notes or correction fields may itself be personal or sensitive.

Choosing a cloud file provider or sharing service may send your chosen files to that provider or recipient. Their privacy practices apply. System/device backups may also include application data, depending on your device settings.

TestFlight testing

When you use the TestFlight beta, Apple processes testing information and makes information available to us, including build usage, crashes, tester invitation status and, depending on invitation method, your name and email address. Crash and usage information is collected automatically by Apple during TestFlight testing. Feedback may include screenshots, device/OS details and contact information. We use this information to investigate problems, respond to testers and improve the Reader. Please avoid including sensitive information or copyrighted screenplay text in screenshots and feedback unless necessary and appropriate to share.

See Apple’s TestFlight privacy information for details of Apple’s processing and retention.

Support and voluntary feedback

If you contact us or send a feedback package, we receive the information you choose to provide, such as your email address, message and attachments. We use it to provide support, review corrections and improve the software. Email and hosting providers process correspondence and website requests to deliver those services; processing may occur outside Australia. Our support email is received using Apple iCloud Mail. Apple processes email to provide that service; see Apple’s Privacy Policy. We do not sell your personal information or use support correspondence for advertising.

Website hosting

Our website is hosted on GitHub Pages. GitHub logs visitors’ IP addresses for security purposes, including when visitors are not signed in to GitHub. See GitHub Pages documentation and GitHub’s privacy statement for information about its processing. These website requests are separate from local use of the Reader app.

The reviewed website uses local assets and does not add advertising, analytics, tracking scripts, contact forms or embedded third-party media. Links to other websites are governed by those websites’ privacy practices when you follow them. Website hosting and email services may process information outside Australia.

Retention and deletion

Local Reader data remains until you remove it using the app or operating system. Removing a catalogue may retain its personal data if you choose that option. Copies in exported files, cloud storage and device backups must be managed there separately.

We normally delete identifiable support correspondence and downloaded tester feedback within 12 months after the issue is closed, unless needed for an ongoing request or legal obligation. We may retain technical issue records after removing personal information and attachments.

Contact us to request access to or correction/deletion of information you have sent us, or to raise a privacy concern. We cannot retrieve or delete local-only Reader data remotely. Apple manages information held in its services under its own policies.

Changes

We will update this page when these practices change and show the effective date above. Material changes affecting a beta will also be explained to testers.
